A fantastic turn out for what was the hottest day of the year so far.๐ŸŒž
Thank you to all of you that helped to make it a wonderful event. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ”๐ŸŒญ๐Ÿ—
There were a lot of happy and very soggy children and adults at the end of the water fight.๐Ÿ˜Š

Training in Hot Weather

The weather is warming up and so we'd just like to remind students:

Please bring plenty of water.

Choi T-Shirts are permitted instead of tops when the temperature is forecasted to be over 23deg for students and 25deg for Instructors. T-Shirts must be tucked into the trouser and the belt must also be worn. Please still bring your top in case we need to practice close range techniques.

If you don't have a Choi T-shirt then please let us know when you next come to train.

Our House Musical

Mr Maguire, one of our Assistant Instructors, will be performing in Our House.

Our House is a musical written by Tim Firth and features hit tracks by Madness such as 'House of Fun', 'Baggy Trousers' and 'It Must be Love'. It first debuted in 2002 and won the Olivier for 'Best New Musical'.
The story centres around Joe Casey, who, on his sixteenth birthday, breaks into some flats to impress the girl of his dreams, Sarah. From here, Joe's life splits in two and we follow the life of Good Joe, who gives himself up to the police, and Bad Joe, who runs away.
Our House is being performed at the Spotlight Theatre in Broxbourne from the 26th to the 28th of September, featuring Sean/Mr Maguire as a Chemist and a Clown. Our House is only suitable for those who are 13 and over.
Please visit www.ehosmadness.co.uk for more information or see the flyer here.

Introduction of the pre-test

Pre-testing for Juniors will be carried out approximately 2 weeks prior to each testing. So for the July testing this will be carried out during the classes from Tuesday 2nd to Sunday 7th July. During this time Instructors will assess each student who is eligible to test to ensure they are technically competent to grade. This will take the form of a normal class but the Instructors will not be able to guide any student. If the child is competent to grade then their name will be added to the grading list. If they are not technically ready, then we will provide feedback to both the parent and child on what needs to be worked on to ensure they are ready for the next testing.
